claude-mem is local-first. This page explains what stays on your device, what cloud sync stores when you opt in, and how to reach us.
Local-first by default. When you install claude-mem, your observations and memory live in a SQLite database on your own machine. Nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly turn on cloud sync. Privacy stripping is applied as memory is generated, so sensitive details are filtered before they are stored.
Cloud sync is opt-in. cmem cloud is an optional service. If you join the waitlist and enable it, cloud sync stores the observations you choose to sync and the metadata needed to serve them back to you through your private MCP link — for example, your account email and the sync state of your devices. We do not sell your data, and we do not use the content of your memory to train models.
Your MCP link. Your MCP link is a personal, secret URL. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can read the memory you have synced. You can request a new link at any time.
Early access. cmem cloud is in early access, and this notice will grow as the service matures. Questions about your data or a request to delete it? Email hello@cmem.ai.
